Reviving a Failed Hip Filler: Part 2 at Gangnam Gowoon Clinic (feat. Hip Filler Revision Review)

These days, as more and more reviews of hip filler procedures surface, it seems that this treatment is becoming a routine practice. Many of the patients who visit our clinic have had hip filler procedures done elsewhere. Among them are those who didn’t see any results, those whose hips ended up looking worse after the procedure, and those who only want slight corrections to their hip line, among others.

Today, I’d like to share the case of a patient who said that after getting hip fillers, they couldn't go to saunas or wear bikinis anymore. After a revision procedure at our clinic, the patient was very satisfied and left a glowing review, for which we are very grateful.

Before the procedure (after being treated at another clinic)

Here is a photo taken about three months after receiving 1000cc of collagen hip filler at another clinic.

The patient, who had the procedure to enhance their appearance, was very distressed because their hip line became uneven and bumpy. Despite undergoing corrective procedures, the irregularities persisted, leading to their frustration. Because of the previous disappointing experiences, the patient was skeptical and sensitive during the consultation. They especially had doubts about the amount of filler used.

At other clinics, the patient had been quoted for 500–1000cc, while at our clinic, we recommended just 50cc. In the end, we used 60cc due to the available space. Seven months later (in December last year), here are the photos from the patient's hip filler follow-up.

In the revision procedure, we focused on correcting the bumps and asymmetry, and added volume to the upper hips to create a more defined waistline.

One of the major differences between our clinic and others is the amount of filler used for the buttocks. In this case, the patient's buttocks had enough volume, so no filler was used! (Using filler for the buttocks requires a lot of volume.

Whenever possible, let's focus on exercise!)

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, collagen boosters are not necessary when using fillers for body contouring.

As shown in this case, when collagen boosters and hyaluronic acid fillers don’t mix well, it can result in bumps, and the effective volume is much less than the amount of filler used. The difference in volume between 1000cc and 60cc cannot be explained by numbers alone. Since hip fillers are injected into the fat layer, it’s best to use a substance that closely resembles fat. That’s hyaluronic acid filler.
