Side Effects of Thigh Liposuction: Development of Hip Dips After Surgery

Hello, this is Dr.Kim from Gowoonmom Clinic

When I was young, I wasn't even aware of hip dips.

As I entered my 30s, I strangely started to dislike my hips... I'm sure many of you can relate to this feeling.

This happens because the fat on your hips reduces as you age, causing hip dips and making the shape of your hips uneven.

I describe this as losing the fat from the hips.

Just as we lose cheek fat and breast fat as we age 😭

However, this hip fat can also disappear after liposuction.

Especially for those who had thigh liposuction about 10 years ago!!

At that time, having a skinny figure was the best, so the trend was to remove all the fat from the buttocks and thighs.

What a regret...

Hip dips are a common side effect of thigh liposuction.

Let me show you someone who, after thigh/buttock liposuction a long time ago, is troubled because the hip line has become uneven and asymmetrical due to side effects.

You can see that the thighs have partially collapsed and hip dips have occurred on the hip line~

We did not correct the buttocks with fillers that day.

We decided to start with buttock exercises first.

The volume of your buttocks definitely increases if you exercise. If it doesn't increase, either you're doing the exercises wrong or you've got the wrong trainer...

Correcting the side effects of thigh liposuction,

There are some differences from the usual hip line correction.

After surgery, a lot of fibrous tissue is distributed in the subcutaneous fat layer, which can hinder the injection of fillers. This is often referred to as keloid.

When performing a standard hip dip filler procedure, considering the swelling, we inject a little more for a preliminary correction,

When performing a procedure on a hip dip caused by the side effect of thigh liposuction, we do the procedure just right and plan to supplement more later.

We gradually establish the position by repeating the minimum surgery.

Fortunately, the patient who had the procedure above did not have many keloids, so there was a lot of space in the tissue for the filler, and the desired design was caught in one go.

The photo taken immediately after the procedure shows a significant volume difference even after the swelling subsides.

Whether it's hip dips that occur with age, hip dips that occur after thigh liposuction, or natural-born hip dips!

Any form of hip dips can be corrected^^
